Family Heirloom of the Day: “As a child I used to love spinning my grandfather’s globe,” Redditor reelando says. ”Today I realized that my 81 year old grandfather has been hiding a mini bar inside the globe for years… My grandpa’s awesome factor definitely doubled.”
The fact that these 16th-century Italian replicas can be had online for less than $1,000 doesn’t make Grandpa any less cool. Don’t miss the rest of the pics.

my grandparents have had one of these in the corner of our dining room since before i was born. i grew up in that home, moved out only for high school and the first year of college, and have been living here again for the past five years, and only two years ago did i find out that the super cool spinning wooden globe holds a fuckton of liquor inside it. so yeah, i know that feel, bro.

This is that thing I always gaze and ponder at in the Skymall catalog and I want it but I want it to be old, and full of mysteries. And liquor.
